The Spanish Empire was one of the largest empires in all of history. They were the first empire that sent out an explorer to the New World that started discovering new lands. This early start boosted the land they were able to hold. They were some of the earliest explorers sending out Magellan who circumnavigated the entire globe. With these explores they found lands from Canada to Tierra Del Fuego. They also were able to find lands in Asia that meant that they now had many places with goods that were all brought back to Spain in many Spanish galleons. Soon the empire fell though with pirates stealing the goods and the colonies in Mexico and other places making independence. Finally the Spanish-American let the rest of the territories annexed. But not before Spain became a very rich and powerful country that as able to become a power in Europe.
